Purpose
Ahimsa is hair care inspired by yoga but meant for anyone who is physically active and looking to maintain and promote clean and healthy hair. Made with natural origin ingredients, sourced from renewable resources, vegan and cruelty-free, our hair care is one part of a journey to self care.
Passion
Yoga is the daily practice that has provided me with physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Whatever active lifestyle you partake in, we all strive for the same goals of physical health, mental well-being, and a sense of harmony with everything and everyone that surrounds us. Yoga is my passion, my practice and my foundation for Ahimsa.
Journey
My personal yoga practice follows the Ashtanga Yoga Method. Ashtanga means 8 limbs and is an eight fold path described within Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras to acheive a state of peacefulness. Ahimsa means no harm and is one of the important tenents of this path. It enables us to live in such a way that we cause no harm in thought, speech, or action to any living being. Ahimsa is the driving force in our practice and our daily decisions. I wanted to transport this gentle notion of no harm “off the yoga mat” and incorporate it into a self care routine that everyone could practice. Self care is a form of practicing ahimsa; our products are gentle, nourishing, aromatic and non harming for your hair and body.
